No matter what you choose, Promise
FastTrak100 TX/LP products offer maximum
flexibility for user data environments. For work-
stations, stripe up to four Ultra ATA/100 drives
(TX4) or two drives (TX2 and LP) to multiply
sustained data transfer speed, particularly for
large files. RAID 1 mirroring protects user data
against drive failure, sending identical data
to a second drive or pair of drives every time
you save.
The TX4 Pro and TX2 Pro kits let you safely
swap a failed drive for a new drive without turn-
ing off the PC under RAID 1 or RAID 0+1

Finally, you can dedicate a non-arrayed drive as
a hot spare under RAID 1 for immediate
replacement and restoration of a failed drive.

into the FastTrak100 TX/LP family for Ultra
ATA/100 drives. The proven Ultra ATA/100
Promise chipset offers high-speed CRC error-
checking that’s been tested by virtually every
major drive manufacturer worldwide.
The onboard Promise LBA BIOS auto-identifies
and optimizes the speed of attached drives for
maximum throughput. Built-in support for
66MHz PCI bus motherboards allows double the
bandwidth for faster data transfers.
Quickly Builds ATA
RAID Arrays
FastTrak100 TX/LP products continue the
heritage of the Promise ATA RAID product line
with optimized data handling. BIOS-level
FastBuild
TM
offers both automatic and manual
array setup menus. Automatically build an
array for performance (RAID 0), or data
protection (RAID 1 or RAID 0+1). Change
RAID levels, delete, or rebuild arrays simply
and easily.
Powerful Array
Monitoring
We’ve also made the password-protected
FastCheck
TM
array monitoring utility even more
powerful for network administrators. Users can
pre-program FastCheck to correct specific array
errors automatically on-the-fly without user
intervention. Information windows automati-
cally appear during “critical” events. Users can
schedule array maintenance. FastCheck even
supports management of removable drive
enclosures to indicate power, temperature, and
fan status

. DMI is also supported for remote
monitoring across a network.
